Stars

This is a Print version. Drawn from my evening walks to a familiar hilltop, ‘Stars’ captures the moment the town recedes and the sky takes precedence. This particular walk ends at the summit, I’d watch the night unfurl in dark blues and brilliant whites—each view a quiet reckoning with scale and solitude.

The painting layers oil paints in sweeping strokes, building depth into the vast sky that dominates the canvas. The stars remain modest—just glimmers on the bottom right of the painting—so the viewer feels the weight and stillness of the night before discovering its constellations. It’s an exploration of subtlety, scale, and how the act of looking up can soften the noise below.
